Background to the STEM Ambassadors Programme
As part of the UK wide STEMNET STEM Ambassadors (formerly SEAs) programme, STEM Scotland is pleased to welcome you to the section for STEM Ambassadors in Scotland.
STEM Scotland comprises of four organisations representing geographical regions of Scotland to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) to school children. Science Connects, (formerly SETPOINT Scotland West), Global Science (formerly SETPOINT Scotland East), Techfest-SetPoint (operating in the North East of Scotland) and STEM North of Scotland are pleased to confirm that they have agreed new arrangements with STEMNET for the period 1 August 2008 to 31 March 2011, to be the STEMPOINT contract holders for Brokerage E&E (Engagement and Enrichment) activities and for the coordination of STEM Ambassadors Programme.
The people responsible for operating the contracts in Scotland have not changed although the names of organisations and some contact details have altered.
One of the main changes is that all new STEM Ambassadors must now register on-line and all existing STEM Ambassadors will soon be able to edit their own activity records and personal details on-line. Please refer to the Becoming a STEM Ambassador page.
The STEM Scotland web site incorporates four areas for Scotland. The STEMPOINT and STEM Ambassadors management contract holders are:
- Scotland West (West Region) - Science Connects
- Scotland East (East Region) - Global Science
- Scotland North East (North East Region) - TechFest-Setpoint
- Scotland Highlands and Islands (North Region) - STEM North of Scotland
For further details please contact the STEM Ambassadors Coordinator in your region.
