National Science and Engineering Week (NSEW 2009)
National Science and Engineering Week (formerly National Science Week), funded by the Department of Trade and Industry, celebrates science and engineering and its importance to our lives. Every March the UK hosts a huge variety of science, engineering and technology events giving people across the UK the chance to participate in activities, experiments and discussions.
This year the theme is "Change". This fits with Darwin200 and the International Year of Astronomy, both happening in 2009. On their website, The British Science Association offers all of the necessary resources to help run your National Science and Engineering Week event within your school.
For 2009, the Scottish Government is providing a small fund of money to help stimulate and support science, engineering and technology events and activities in Scotland. Grants are usually limited to £500 as it is a small fund to be divided by many. Deadline for application is Friday 16th January so you need to act fast if you still want to apply.
