STEM Activities In Schools

STEM North of Scotland holds the STEMNET contract for brokerage of science, technology, engineering, and maths activities to primary and secondary schools for the Highlands and Islands. STEM North of Scotland can give you advice on which STEM activities are available in this region, what pupil level the activities are suitable for, and how they link to the curriculum for excellence.

Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs)

STEM North of Scotland holds the STEMNET contract for Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) for the Highlands and Islands. SEAs give a few hours of their time to help inspire young people in STEM by career talks, help with activities in the classroom or at science festivals.   • KNEX Challenge in Caithness and Sutherland KNEX Challenge in Caithness and Sutherland is a competition aimed at primary 6 pupils working in pairs to design and build a solution to a set problem using KNEX. It will be run in all interested schools and is free of charge.
