	November 2009 Industry Day Engineering Brings Local Employers into the Classroom Young people at Thurso, Wick, Golspie and Farr High Schools learned about the engineering sector during a series of industry days organised by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).
	November 2009 INEOS lecture provides inspiration Students from six local high schools recently attended the inaugural annual INEOS lecture held in the site's exhibition centre in partnership with Global Science. Timed to coincide with the Royal Society of Chemistry's Chemistry Week, the event was a mixture of lectures and hands-on workshops designed to inspire and enthuse the S5/6 pupils.
	November 2009 Clackmannan Science and Enterprise Day 13th November P6 pupils from all of the Clackmannan Primary Schools took part in a "Fun Day of Activities". A total of 120 pupils attended.

	October 2009 TAG Citizens Theatre: This View of Life The Citizens Theatre has received funding from the Scottish Government for their project, This View of Life which is currently running at the National Library of Scotland to a pre-booked schools audience.
	October 2009 Young Engineers Autumn Update The Young Engineers Autumn update has now been emailed to schools detailing news and opportunities for young engineers.
	September 2009 Ingenious - RA Eng Grant Scheme for Creative Public Engagement Ingenious is a grants scheme that funds thought-provoking activities for engineers to share their expertise and enthusiasm for engineering with public audiences of all ages.
	August 2009 Support for STEM in the Highlands and Islands Last school year Ruth ran KNEX engineering workshops for over 600 primary six pupils in Caithness and Sutherland. The winning team of the regional Caithness final went on to win the Scottish Final for Junior Engineer for Britain K'Nex Challenge in Dundee in June of this year.
	August 2009 Global Science School 'Top of the Class' at SCDI Celebration of Engineering and Science Awards At the recent SCDI Celebration of Engineering and Science Awards schools from Global Science's east region did extremely well with the following schools receiving 4 of the 8 awards on the day.
	July 2009 A STEM Celebration in Lybster The work of STEM ? science, technology, engineering and mathematics ? Ambassadors in the Caithness area was recognised this week in a celebration event hosted by Highlands and Islands Enterprise in Lybster.
	June 2009 New Funding for Science Festivals in the North of Scotland The Scottish Government has announced GBP75,000 has been awarded to the network of Science Festivals across the Highlands and Islands. Five festivals will receive at least GBP10,000 with additional funds being made available to help with transport costs. Festivals in Caithness, Moray, Inverness, Shetland and Orkney will be able to expand their science programmes and the upcoming festival in the Outer Hebrides will be able to establish itself.

	April 2009 Grangemouth Science Festival was the Best One Yet Grangemouth Science Festival was the best one yet according to the pupils and staff attending the event. The event would not have been possible had it not been for the high number of Science Ambassadors supporting the event. The event was formally opened by Dr Wendy Livingstone , Associate Principal at Forth Valley College. A twelve day event is a massive commitment and we can't thank our Ambassadors enough for their input.
	March 2009 FREE experiment kits to ALL state secondary schools You are probably already aware that the year 2009 is the 150th anniversary of the publication "On the Origin of Species" and the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth. To celebrate the Wellcome Trust are providing FREE experiment kits to ALL state secondary schools across the UK.
