INEOS lecture provides inspiration
Students from six local high schools recently attended the inaugural annual INEOS lecture held in the site's exhibition centre in partnership with Global Science. Timed to coincide with the Royal Society of Chemistry's Chemistry Week, the event was a mixture of lectures and hands-on workshops designed to inspire and enthuse the S5/6 pupils. |

Support for STEM in the Highlands and Islands
Last school year Ruth ran KNEX engineering workshops for over 600 primary six pupils in Caithness and Sutherland. The winning team of the regional Caithness final went on to win the Scottish Final for Junior Engineer for Britain K'Nex Challenge in Dundee in June of this year. |

New Funding for Science Festivals in the North of Scotland
The Scottish Government has announced GBP75,000 has been awarded to the network of Science Festivals across the Highlands and Islands. Five festivals will receive at least GBP10,000 with additional funds being made available to help with transport costs. Festivals in Caithness, Moray, Inverness, Shetland and Orkney will be able to expand their science programmes and the upcoming festival in the Outer Hebrides will be able to establish itself. |

Grangemouth Science Festival was the Best One Yet
Grangemouth Science Festival was the best one yet according to the pupils and staff attending the event. The event would not have been possible had it not been for the high number of Science Ambassadors supporting the event. The event was formally opened by Dr Wendy Livingstone , Associate Principal at Forth Valley College. A twelve day event is a massive commitment and we can't thank our Ambassadors enough for their input. |
