STEM Activities In Schools

Global Science holds the STEMNET contract for brokerage of science, technology, engineering, and maths activities to primary and secondary schools for the East of Scotland. Global Science can give you advice on which STEM activities are available in this region, what pupil level the activities are suitable for, and how they link to the curriculum for excellence.

Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs)

Global Science holds the STEMNET contract for Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) for the East of Scotland. SEAs give a few hours of their time to help inspire young people in STEM by career talks, help with activities in the classroom or at science festivals. Science Centres

• Our Dynamic Earth Visitor attraction in Edinburgh. Our Dynamic Earth is telling the unique story of our planet's past present and future.

Science Festivals

• Edinburgh International Science Festival This festival held during the Easter holidays aims to engage all of society in the wonder and value of science and technology, placing a particularly strong emphasis on giving children experiences of science that are inspiring and confidence building.
• Grangemouth Science Festival This new science festival will have hands-on activities and science shows. For more information contact Frank McKeever.

Events

• Darwin Year 2009 A range of activities will be taking place during Darwin Year 2009. This will include events, activities and talks.
• South Pole Race 2008 Schools can obtain Free Wall Charts, Free Quiz Dowloads, Free Teaching aids and you can enter the competition and win a visit from the QinetiQ team during Science week.
